Mieczysław was born 70 years ago in a small village nestled among fields and forests, in a house without electricity or running water. From an early age, he was attached to the farmland. Mieczysław received his higher education at the Agricultural Academy in Warsaw. He started working on Mr. Edward Rytel’s farm in 1986, doing vegetable growing work, mainly agrotechnology, crop protection, harvesting, operation and maintenance of machinery. After starting to work with McDonald’s, he and Mr. Edward’s family introduced high quality requirements for the vegetables supplied, which exceeded the EUREPGAP (now GLOBALGAP) standards of the time. An interesting feature was the introduction of toilets in the field, which was rare at the time. Mieczysław actively participated in the development and expansion of the farm, constructed and modernized machinery that went to the farm. He has specialized in plant protection for more than a dozen years, and under his tutelage many employees have gained experience in this responsible work.
